On November 14 and 28, 2018, SNMA hosted community health screenings in Pratt City, a community in northwest Birmingham with some of the highest rates of hypertension and diabetes in Jefferson County, AL. Participants were able to get their blood pressures and blood sugar checked before bible study at Bethel Baptist Church of Pratt City. SNMA members also printed medical ID cards so participants could have a compact list of their medications and allergies. Dr. Brandon Roane and Dr. Samantha Hill were also available to speak with participants on improving their overall health. Special thanks to our partner Stethohope for providing the stethoscopes for the blood pressure station, as well as the volunteers from UAB Physician Assistants’ Association, UAB Student National Dental Association (SNDA), Samford University chapter of the Student National Pharmacy Association (SNPhA).
